vPilot Windows Defender error

Thanks Ross for your quick reply. Just be aware that additionally my system reported vpilot with the following virus: Trojan:Win32/Detplock

The tech department has submitted a case to Microsoft, not a lot more can be done at this point.

I had this problem but was able to restore vPilot from quarantine in settings
Ransomeware protection/manage/block history/Filters/Quaranteined Items and click on Threat Quarantined and then actions and Restore to restore it.

I am also having the same issue here. I was able to fly this morning with out problems, then after it stopped working

Just turned on my PC this afternoon and got the same exact issue. It was automatically deleted off my computer. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

This worked! Thank you very much.

Is your installation of vPilot stuck in quarantine?

Don’t worry, it’s a false positive. Only Microsoft (and three no-name antivirus applications) are reporting this.
You can verify this via VirusTotal, which checks against 72 different antivirus applications: VirusTotal

You can restore everything back to normal via the Windows Security app. See below for how to do this (you may have to try either or both actions in the screenshot):

We’ve also reported this issue to Microsoft, who is investigating the issue.

I just release vPilot 3.10.1 which should prevent Windows Defender (and other antivirus programs) flagging it as containing a trojan/virus. (For the techies among us, the “fix” was to purchase a code signing certificate and sign the installer and the vPilot.exe. Apparently this creates enough trust that the virus scanners won’t think it has the malware.)
