Vpilot PTT Stops Responding

I’m running into the same issue; I have my firewall off in Windows and I am running vPilot as an administrator

It seems to stop working on long flights

Same here. It’s not long flights either. I’ve taken down bitdefender and other AV/firewall and it’s not driven by one’s personal network or packets being blocked. This is software functionality. Something is disconnecting the PTT function within the code. The joystick trigger or any other PTT button doesn’t light up the PTT TX box. There’s a disconnect somewhere in there.

for me its still not working even after reinstalling the client. It would be great to have some assistance with the issue, I am trying to do a flight and it’s really annoying. Thanks

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let u know that I have managed to fix the issue for the time being. I am not sure if it will occur again but I have set my new PTT button on my Logitech throttle quadrant instead of my keyboard. I don’t know why this has worked but I am sure the issue will occur again in the future. Thanks

Just making sure – you guys are all following the vPilot docs and the guidance in the vPilot Tips, Tricks, FAQ and Troubleshooting guide for setting up your PTTs, correct? If not, maybe have a look there.

Can’t speak for other folks but I’ve gone through all the steps, reinstalled vPilot, and still have issues. Using .debug vPilot registers the PTT press and release, but TX does not light up. The issue only seems to happen when I’ve been connected for a long time without transmitting, and restarting vPilot fixes the issue, but also takes time

Hi folks, similar issue here. When I push the PTT key chosen and saved in the settings (in my case the “X”), the TX does not light up. Instead of that an endless row of XXXX show up in the message input line, as long as I keep the K-key pressed.

Any idea?

vPilot does not prevent the PTT key from performing its usual function, so it’s normal that you would see x characters added to the vPilot command line if you choose x as your PTT key. Normally, if you want to use a keyboard key, you would use an “invisible” key such as the left or right Control key.

As for why the TX light isn’t lighting up, that’s a different issue. Does the TX and RX letters show in gray or white?

It looks like it is working again - without any changes made. Problem is, it comes and goes now and then.

The letters are showing white since ever and the frequency numbers are turquois now - as well as the TX button, just as it should be.

Anyway, thanks for your immediate response!
