Vpilot + MSFS 2024 + AIG / FSLTL modelmatching

Dear all,

sometimes landing planes have missing gears extended, do other have this aswell?

Greetings

Markus

It’s rare, but can happen, depending on how well the AI model was developed.

I am using Msfs 2024 and it seems it’s Not the Model, the Landing Planes have no gear, the departing have it

Hi, jjust wanted to add a +1 on the landing aircraft not having landing gear, the exact same model departing has landing gear and is retracted correctly once airborne, however on approach the gear is not extended

FSLTL is not officially supported on FS2024 yet, so that might be the issue.

I have aig Msfs 2024 and fsltl, it doesnt mind if it’s an aig or fsltl plane. Same experience as josh

Im not using FSTL and still have the sane issues, if it was the model would the gear not show even on departures? Its only arriving planes that have the issue

Is there any debug Mode with Vatsim to See the states of Aircraft like lights landing gear etc?

vPilot has a .debug command that will open up a window with some information.
I don’t remember if landing gear/lights are included, but you could give it a try.

Yes landing gear is in.

From my observations: Vpilot is asking for the aircraft state when the aircraft comes in range. Thats normally a high altitude withour gear down. When the pilot is on approach, the new state for gear down will not be recognized.
When the aircraft with no gear is on the ground, if you disconnect from vatsim and reconnect vpilot is asking again for the state and the gear is down. So it seems vpilot is not recognizing the change of gear down on approach from the aircrafts. Is it possible that the devs could check it?

It’s an issue with how MSFS 24 handles LOD’s, not due to vpilot or the AI model, at least that’s what us in the FSLTL team have found.

What would be the next steps? Posting the issue in the dev support forum of MSFS?

I’m not a tech guy, so take this with a grain of salt, but that seems reasonable. In my opinion, it sounds like Microsoft and/or Asobo in MSFS2024 changed the way “everyone else” does things in multiple other sims, which causes compatibility issues for the entire community when they see aircraft operating that use MSFS2024. If that is true, they should fix it on their end, not rely on numerous others to try to put band-aids on numerous software packages to mask an injury the 2024 team caused…

@1438191 Could you maybe make a post in the msfs dev suppport forum? I am sure you can explain it much better
