VPilot doesnt work anymore

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with vPilot that’s preventing it from working correctly. Here’s what’s happening:

  1. Problem Description:
  • When I launch vPilot, I receive an error message with the option to either “Continue” or “Quit”.
  • If I select “Continue”, the program launches, but my Push-to-Talk (PTT) function doesn’t work anymore, making it unusable.
  • This issue is unusual because vPilot was working perfectly fine until recently.
  1. Possible Cause:
  • The issue started shortly after installing some Windows 11 updates, though I’m not entirely sure if the updates are to blame.
  1. What I’ve Tried:
  • Restarting the PC.
  • Reinstalling vPilot
  • Clearing the registry and performing a clean reinstall.
  1. System Details:
  • Operating System: Windows 11 with the latest updates.
  • vPilot Version: 3.9.0.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Could it be related to the recent Windows updates, or is there something else I should look into? I’d appreciate any advice or troubleshooting steps to get vPilot working again.

I have previously had issues with W updates changing the default sound devices.

MAYBE check the settings in vPilot to see what they are set to after the Update. Only a thought and possibly way off the mark for your situation.

I struggled with this issue for several days and eventually switched to IVAO out of frustration. However, I was lucky because my son visited me, and he’s quite skilled with computers. It took him several minutes to figure out the problem.

The issue was related to the microphone access settings in Windows 11. After a recent update, something must have changed, and the microphone access for apps was disabled. Once he enabled microphone access again in the Windows settings, everything started working normally.

Now, vPilot is back to normal, and the problem is resolved!

Personally, I don’t like Windows 11, and I find it increasingly difficult to navigate and use.

For future reference, if you get an error message, post the actual error message. It’s very hard to troubleshoot an error without knowing what the error is.

Sorry, but there wasn’t any error visible—it was the entire window that froze. Occasionally, I managed to open something, and there was a long list of codes displayed, but it was almost impossible to copy anything. This was the first time I encountered such an issue; it was totally weird.

You said you got an error message, so I assumed you got an error message.

It certainly does.

They need to get this shit fixed because windows 11 does not function well with the defender turned off.

I don’t think anybody disagrees that it needs to get fixed, however that is slightly off-topic to what the post is about. It has been raised to Microsoft, so it’s up to them now.

I’m confused as to why you mentioned Windows Defender in this thread. Did you mean to post in one of the other threads related to vPilot 3.10 being flagged as malware?

Does anyone know if the problem with the vPilot and the Windows Virus Defender (Trojaner… ) will be fixed shortly?

It’s a false positive, only Microsoft can fix it.

This is a completely unrelated thread. Please refer to this one vPilot Windows Defender error - #27 by 1569056
