vPilot disable Model Matching failure Message

Hello All,

is there a way to disable the “… failed to create aircraft …” message? I’m aware of that issue but find it sometimes quite annoying to get this message constantly.

Greetings
Michael

That error is telling you that you have something configured wrong. Usually it’s caused by having a VMR file that uses models that you don’t actually have installed.

The way to get rid of the error is to fix the misconfiguration that is causing the error.

Thanks for the reply. I know why I’m getting the message. I was wondering if I can simply disable or suppress this message without fixing anything in the VMR. But apparently, that’s not possible.

No, that would be pointless, because you need to fix your VMR files. You do realize that these errors actually mean something is wrong, right? The model matching is not working.

It’s fine. You can’t disable the notification, and that answers my question. I’ll continue to live with it. Thanks.

You should not be getting this message constantly if you have suitable model matching installed. I use FSLTL and I never get the failed to create aircraft message, unless someone nearby is flying something very unusual or rare.

The error is not caused (directly) by what the other pilot is flying. It’s caused by you having a VMR file that points to a model that you don’t actually have installed.

In other words, if the other pilot is flying something unusual or rare, then it still means you have a bad VMR rule, just one that is not matched very often.

@977617 I use Notepad++ to edit my vmr files. Since I got 3 or 4 of them, I can open them simultaneously by just opening notepad instead of searching for each separate file. Leave them open in Notepad and just close Notepad if you’ve finished.

Fixing these errors is quite simple: if you get an error like “failed to create SAS123 using… xxx”, you just search in notepad for “SAS” and delete the rows that cause the error.
