vPilot - Advanced model matching

When unchecking models you don’t want to be used for model matching, shouldn’t the models beneath also be automatically unchecked?

In this example, it seems like the Ryanair as well as the default model (178Seat) are still selected. Even when the top model/level has been unchecked.

Yeah, that part of the UI needs to be reworked. The reason it works the way it does is because many folders will have dozens or even hundreds of models within them (especially with FSX and P3D) and I didn’t want the folder checkbox to change the state of any of the checkboxes within that folder, since one wrong click could undo a lot of work the user had done in the past deselecting individual models. So instead, I made it retain the individual model checkbox states, and show the disabled state by graying out the model name. That way, you can turn an entire folder on/off without losing your individual model selections within.

Got it, thanks for the explanation Ross and what you say makes sense.

So just to make sure I don’t misunderstand what you say, even when the 2 models in my screenshot above are still selected with a checkmark next to them, they will never be used for model matching since they are both greyed out - correct?

Yes, that’s right.

I should note that excluding models only excludes them from automatic model matching. They can still be used if you reference them in a VMR file.

Brilliant, many thanks Ross!
