Since the start of this year, VATSIM has been open to receiving donations to support the network via ‘Donate to VATSIM’. Through this post we would like to give the community an update into what has been going on behind the scenes in terms of financials.
Current VATSIM Costs
The network is currently operating at a cost of just over $16K USD/year. We have been improving our services since the start of 2023 when we started accepting donations, as VATSIM had been cutting and slicing and chopping services to save money in the last few years. We would love to restore more of the capabilities we had to cut, and add new ones to keep VATSIM running smoothly.
Current VATSIM Donations
Over 1,000 of you have already donated to VATSIM, for which we are extremely grateful! Almost 17% of those donors have also signed up for recurring donations, which is hugely appreciated and will help to keep VATSIM running in perpetuity!

You can already become a donor starting at just $5 dollars (USD). And if you set up a recurring donation, you can help support VATSIM long-term and make sure the network is here to stay! VATSIM has been around for almost 25 years, and we would love for it to be around for at least another 25 (and many more!).
