Vatsim AIP, how is database maintained? Corrections?

I’m looking for a place to submit feedback or suggestions for the VASIM AIP database. I found an airport with a strange CTAF frequency listed that is not on any of the current FAA charts, plus there are some airports that still need to be filled out. Is there any way to submit feedback about AIP data or future features? Or perhaps is there a team that needs volunteers to help maintain?

The specific thing I found was the AIP entry for Castle Airport (KMER), which is a former Air Force Base near Mercer California, (as of Aug 2025) lists the “Castle Tower / CTAF” as 123.000, but that frequency doesn’t appear on any of the current airport charts or FAA data. Instead, the FAA data for KMER shows a part-time Control Tower and CTAF frequency assignment of 118.175 MHz. My X-Plane 12.2 software, with the default AIRAC cycle 2306 data, also shows Tower and CTAF frequencies as 118.175.

It is maintained by the local staff in each facility, so you should reach out to them.

Initially when VATSIM AIP was introduced a couple of years ago, there was some “hype” around it initally but it was tedious to work with especially for larger facilities and eventually it has lead to many facilities forgetting that it even exicsts today.
