Hi, I have three/four feature requests for VAT-Spy.
First, when searching for an airport using the search bar, snap to its location instead of opening a page with information about it. Almost every time I type in an airport code, I want to know where it is, general traffic levels, and overlaying controllers. This is easier to get from the map view than the information page, for me. Plus, when I do need the information page, I can click on the “Airport Details - XXXX” tab as well. This same logic should apply to searching for FIRs/ARTCCs.
Similarly, I think it would be advantageous to be able to search for flights. I often use VAT-Spy to find my location relative to radar services and then use the ruler tool to figure out when I need to contact the controller. I always have difficulty finding my aircraft on the map since I choose not to display aircraft callsigns as they cause too much clutter. In hindsight, I could just turn on callsigns briefly the switch them back off, but this feature may still be helpful.
Finally, when using a filter, highlight the aircraft “blips” when callsigns are not displayed. Again, I choose to not display callsigns and would like if there was a way to still see filtered aircraft without needing to turn on callsigns. Relatedly, allow there to be an option so the filtered aircraft can be the only ones displayed. By that I mean hide all other traffic on the map. I don’t have a personal use for this, I but thought I’d just throw that in there since it came to mind.
