VATSSA - VATSIM’s Sub-Sahara Division is looking for candidates for the Events Manager role to lead the Events and Marketing Team.
The Division Event Manager is a member of the Division’s Senior Staff Team and reports directly to the Division Director.
Role Responsibilities
The Events Manager role responsibilities include:
Organizing, promoting, and facilitating events on behalf of the Division. This includes coordinating with controllers for ATC, creating event banners, and ensuring effective promotion through various channels.
Maintaining and managing all approved social media platforms for the Division. This involves regularly updating content, engaging with the community, and ensuring a consistent and professional online presence.
Acting as a representative and spokesperson for the Division on an international scale, particularly for events and marketing purposes.
Collaborating with other vACCs, Divisions, and Regions to coordinate events that will interest the community. This involves liaising with relevant vACCs/Division and ensuring seamless cooperation for successful events.
Ensuring ATC Coverage for all events and coordinating with other vACCs/Divisions for enroute ATC Coverage for international events.
Performing assigned tasks by the Division Director (VATSSA 1)
Role Requirements
Knowledge and Understanding of VATSIM and Division Policies.
Good communication skills and the ability to speak and write in English.
Applicants must be in good standing with VATSIM.
Must be a member of VATSSA or available for transfer if selected, per current VATSIM Controller Transfer Policy.
Ability to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours or greater per week towards the Events team.
Ability to commit to the role for a minimum of 12 months.
