The VATSIM Middle East & Northern Africa Division is now accepting applications for the position of Operations Team Member (MENAOPS).
Position Duties: The role of the Divisional Operations Team Member entails assisting the department leadership in managing & improving the Operations within VATMENA division on VATSIM network.
Reports Directly To:
- Operations Director - VATSIM Middle East & Northern Africa [VATMENA32]
- Operations Deputy Director - VATSIM Middle East & Northern Africa [VATMENA33]
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting in overseeing all subdivisional operations departments, ensuring all sector files and/or operational resources are accurate and up to the divisional standard.
- Developing high quality sector files for open-sky and FSS positions.
- Aid and guide the subdivisional operational departments when required.
- Developing training materials as assigned by the department director.
- Maintaining a visible and active presence within the division’s social platforms.
- Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Department Director.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this position, the candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a minimum rating of Enroute Controller (C1). Exceptions can be made to those deemed fit
- Extensive experience with sectorfiles (Euroscope) and AeroNav GNG
- The applicant should be on good standing with VATSIM and VATMENA
- The applicant should have a good understanding of the VATSIM CoR, CoC and other documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English.
- Be capable of committing an average of 5-7 hours per week to the role.
- Able to commit to the position for a minimum term of one year.
Ideal Candidate Should Have:
- Prior experience with QGIS
- Prior experience with VATSys Radar Client
- Strong skills in planning, organization, and coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of airspace structures and geography of the Middle East & North Africa
- Excellent communication, administrative, and collaborative abilities.
- A strong commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering results on time.
- A strive to enhance and improve divisional operations through proactive problem-solving and innovation.
