it has been more than 24 hours since I was temporarily suspended. The e-mail specified that I will be contacted “shortly”. It is now 30 hours later. I just wanted to ask if I should indefinitely keep waiting or what. Because clearly, I misunderstood VATSIM’s definition of “shortly”.
All VATSIM staff are volunteers and they will contact you as soon as their time allows them to. If you think that you were forgotten, or similar, open a ticket at the support desk: https://my.vatsim.net/support
You may also have noticed from the email you received when you were suspended that your account was referred for consideration by the Conflict Resolution Management. As you may recall from the Code of Regulations, that means that your account is suspended for no less than 48 hours, not 24, while Conflict Resolution reviews and determines if further investigation and/or action is appropriate.
That said, based on your feedback, I reviewed the email template for those that are referred to Conflict Resolution for further investigation and/or action, and took a continuous improvement opportunity to update the template to make it clearer that the initial suspension period is for no less than 48 hours, and additional investigation and/or action may follow.
Thank you for the feedback.
Normally, I would never speak about individual cases online for all to see. But since you brought it to the forums, I’ll give you a hint, since the email communication you received was based on the old template – you may attempt to reconnect any time after 2025-01-25 01:53:20Z.
