I am an S1 controller in VATUSA. I know the FAA has a preferred routing system. I usually use this if it applies to the aircraft. I was wondering if this messes up other ARTCCs’ operations or if I should continue using it.

First port of call is your ARTCC training staff. ATCO should follow their ARTCC guidelines and policies.
