Jabra Headset tips and vPilot

Recently my headset was acting up and for those who have experienced it, you know what I am talking about. The headset (when a controller or another pilot, no pattern to how and why it happened) will suddenly get very progressively loud (enough to crack open the drum). Someone suggested I install the audio normaliser by katiepilot and that it’s a known issue with vPilot.

I remembered my Jabra headset has its own USB connector so instead of using Windows Bluetooth to connect to my headset, I decided to connect to the Jabra’s connector. It has an audio normalizer (I’m in the US so we use our Z’s here) built in and in multiple flights now, I have not had any issues. Some people have had success tweaking Windows settings too but it was a hit or miss for me. Hope this helps someone.

For clarity, it’s not a vPilot issue, it’s an issue with the VATSIM audio system, AFV.

I was told by a fellow Sim’er that it was a known issue with vPilot. Anyway, good to know and thanks. Had to look up AFV (audio for vatsim codec) as I am only familiar with it as Amniotic Fluid Volume or America’s funniest videos).
