Hiya I never had this issue outside of the beta and was hoping if someone could help find the reasoning, when pressing escape in FS24 for any reason, be it settings or by mistake even just for a second I stay connected however when i click Resume/ESC or any other means of exiting the menu and back to the cockpit it disconnects from the network just as if i pressed the Disconnect button in vPilot, im unsure if it was a vPilot issue or something weird with the SU1 Beta (Im always inclinded to believe its FS24s fault) but thought id ask incase its a mixture of both, thanks!
I thought i should add, in the .debug and also the log created no errors are shown just that the dissconect happened.
Would like to join in to those who get disconnected by pressing ESC.
Latest Sim version as I’ve bought and downloaded FS24 just two days ago and updated everything.
I started seeing this problem after Sim update 2 in 2024 - the disconnect happens when resuming after a pause or for example making a change in sim settings.
respectfully asking a fix for this

Same here with 2024 SU2 stable. Any time I press escape to bring up the main menu, vPilot disconnects from the network. A fellow pilot reported the same.
They must have changed something with how the camera state events work, which is how vPilot detects if you’re in the cockpit or not. I was hoping they would fix it before now, but apparently not. I’ll take a look and see if I can add a workaround in vPilot.
I wasn’t able to find a reliable workaround, so I completely rewrote how vPilot detects if you’re in a flight or not in MSFS 2024. It now only allows you to connect to VATSIM if the camera state is one of several allowed values. (Values like Avatar, Cockpit, Drone, etc.)
And it will now auto-disconnect you if the camera state changes to MainMenu or WorldMap and stays there for at least two seconds.
This change is available in version 3.11.2 which is only released in the Beta Updates channel. Please give it a try and let me know if there are any issues.
If you are currently configured for the Stable Updates channel, you can change to the Beta channel in the vPilot settings. You will then need to restart vPilot to get the 3.11.2 update. If you are already in the Beta channel, it should download 3.11.2 when you next start vPilot.
If you have issues and want to revert back to 3.11.1, change back to the Stable channel, and reinstall vPilot from the Stable link on the vPilot Downloads page. You don’t need to uninstall vPilot first.
