With the expanded use of the right click menu in vPilot, an ‘auto update’ function to the ATIS request would be a welcome addition, ideally accompanied by a sound to alert the pilots that a new ATIS has posted. This would be similar to the ‘subscribe’ function as a controller in that when a new ATIS comes out, it is automatically sent to the pilots who have selected auto updated. This function exists within most ACARS/CPDLC ATIS request functions in real aircraft as well. Even more bonus points if the audio file can be customized and changed.
