I want to start by saying I’m not a controller myself, but I’ve been watching some controller POVs recently. I’ve noticed that the plane illustrations look quite simplistic, almost as if they were drawn by a child.
I’m not trying to criticize any developers or controllers, but I’m curious about why the illustrations look this way.
they are replicating how it would look on a real ground radar. oftentimes, the shape also changes a little bit with each radar tick if the aircraft is moving, again just like in the real world
