this behavior started a few days ago, vpilot disconnects after exactly 2 hours 4 minutes.
any ideas? an isp problem? vpilot? vatsim itself?

alright. I appear to have come across a specific solution.
its something with netgear routers, a bug going back many years apparently. the solution is to turn on QoS (quality of service) which is some proprietary bandwidth management system. nobody knows why it works but it does.
I know I am quite late… But I have the similar problem. How do I turn on QOS? and does this solve the problem or are there other alternatives too?
you need to log into your router and find it
by the way. while the qos thing worked, i ended up just getting a new router. much better performance overall anyway. i can recommend tp link. no problems with vpilot/vatsim right out of the box.
Strangely enough, this has started happening to me. I get disconnected around 3 hours and 15 minutes. It’s happened a few times over the last couple weeks. I have the TP-Link Archer C2600. It’s been running great for many years.
I just turned on QoS to see if that’ll help. Thanks for the info. I hope that helps.
