Cannot find Departure YANKEE for EGCC

Listening to VPILOT today and all flights from Manchester EGCC were assigned departure YANKEE. I use a number if flight plan editors but none show YANKEE. Onse a controller used SANBA.YANKEE. I can see SANBA but not YANKEE. What am I missing here.

Is it possible they were talking about the sanba1y departure? That would be spoken as the “sanba one yankee departure”. For departure procedures it is important to look at the charts and not just at a flight planner as simbrief and co dont display all the necessary information.

Attached is a direct link to the sanba1y departure on chartfox:

Only one Controller mentioned SANBA all others just said departure by YANKEE. Since YANKEE appears nowhere isnt it confusing to others exactly what this departure is

Anyone??..Show me YANKEE on a departure chart

If you look above, Louis answered your question… Y is spoken phonetically as “Yankee”, so SANBA1Y, is spoken as “SANBA ONE YANKEE”. He even linked you a copy of the chart.

With this demanding attitude you probably wont get far on a volunteer based network, I already sent you the chart with the sanba1y departure which is probably what was meant and maybe the sanba part was just said quickly and almost swlalowed so you didnt hear it.

The only other (unlikely) option that I could imagine would be that there would be some sort of vfr route called yankee or something like that but I am not local to that airport, so not sure. But that would be pretty unlikely as these routes if they exist are mostly named by their crdinal direction, so again the most probable cause of the confusion is that the sanba part of the sanba one yankee was a bit garbled and you did only hear the 1y part.

Thanks all. Sorry i missed the connection of Y to YANKEE.

Sorry if I come accross as demanding…let me explain. I follow NetSim as an observer since I am a newbie. I follow the instructions given to the pilots and try to follow along. I listened this day for over an hour. All Controllers referred to the departure simply as YANKEE. I could not find the departure named YANKEE so could not fly along that day. I am sure those familiar with the airport are familiar with the connection of YANKEE to SANBA but newdies are not. Thanks again and sorry to appear demanding.

Correction…VATSIM. As I said I am a newbie

Norman Hi,
Just to be sure you understand at 100% this is the chart you were referring for →

EGCC has several and different “Yankee” departures so the controller should use the full name e.g. Sanba-one-yankee
