hello folks…me again still having radio problems,
I can transmit and talk to pilots on UNICOM but can never transmit or receive from an active ATC station.
Have reinstalled Vpilot and set up correctly.
Looked in various forums but no solution.
Still flying with no ATC…very frustrating…
Can any one please help ?
are you sure that ATC is covering the airport you’re at? As in: You are at the GND at ABCD and are trying to talk to ABCD_GND?
Hello Lars. Yes, I was at EGLL a moment ago and GND was online but he could not hear me
Hi folks
This may seem an ambitious or pushy question but if the creator/s of Vpilot are reading these forums, can they supply me with a possible solution?
Than you and apologies
Donald
Hi Donald,
I do believe Ross monitors the forums. I know him well; if he had an idea, I’m sure he would have jumped in to help already.
I’ve been watching these forums for a while now, and have never seen or heard of an instance where you can talk to people only on Unicom, but not on any other frequency. We have nearly 114,000 active vPilot users, and no others are reporting this issue.
I know in the past you were having this issue with a particular aircraft where you were observing the active and standby frequencies working in reverse. But I don’t recall if you were having issues with other aircraft as well. Have you tried with a number of aircraft, including default aircraft?
Hello Don and thanks for your mail. I shall try with other default aircraft later and will report back.
Donald
Hello Don. I have tested again this morning with FSX default aircraft. With each one I get a response when tuned into UNICOM from a kind UNICOM pilot but when I tune into active ATC (today @ Heathrow GND and TWR, ) I get no reply
My mic set up must be ok otherwise I would not be able to talk on UNICOM.
This is very sad as I have to fly ‘silent’
Donald
I’m sorry. I’m afraid it makes absolutely no sense to me that you can communicate on unicom but no other frequency. I’m afraid I’m stumped. Good luck!
Are you putting in all the numbers of the frequency? Example 121.900
Thanks Don and Edward. Yes, I have tried varied active frequencies but no result.
If ever I get a solution I will let you know !
Regards
Donald
I use Prosim on a full size sim and I had a similar issue where some frequencies would work and others not.
To cut a long story short, there is a thing called displayed (Channel) vs actual frequency in VHF.
What I found was prosim for example was displaying 118.050 and so was vPilot, however the underlying frequency in p3d was 118.055. This is due to the 8.33 kHz spacing.
vPilot was using the actual frequency, 118.055, even though it was displaying 118.050. In the real world this is correct. In Vatsim they are 2 completely different frequencies.
You don’t mention which sim you are using or which A/C, but I think they all work the same.
I have a feeling this has been sort been fixed in vPilot though not 100% sure. Maybe someone can update me on that.
Info:
Scroll down to the 8.33 kHz channels vs. 25 kHz channels heading.

Hi Jeffrey and
Thanks for your helpful information. I shall make sure I try your solutions soon.
BTW… I was using the PMDG 747 but the problem persisted in all aircraft even default types
Hello Don
I have been given a partial solution to my problem.
I was told by an active GND_EGLL operator to tune into his frequency which was 121.05. My radio stack in the PMDG 777 would only tune into 121.00 or 121.25. I could not activate the number 05.
He told me to type .com1 121.05 into V PILOT.
All then came alive. Wonderful!
Can you think of a solution in order to get 121.05 to operate in the cockpit radio?
Thank you
Donald
Please ignore my previous post. PMDG have confirmed that due to frequency changes this cannot be corrected in their aircraft.
