AFV G2G Communication

IIRC, back when AFV was being developed it also had the very important ground to ground component intended to be included at release, or at least included in some closed early testing versions.

I don’t think I am alone in missing this central feature very much.

Proprietary solutions exist, to name a few: Discord, Teamspeak, Teamspeak skinned with a VCS GUI in Euroscope (working for one half, crashing ES for the other half…). The problem with a proprietary solution is just that, it does not work for, or is used by everybody, greatly reducing the function and purpose of such extra solutions.

This usually limits controllers to using private text messages when coordinating across VACC borders.

Is there something in the works, or planning to be, regarding this missing crucial part of voice communication for controllers on the network?

If not, i kindly beg our motivated members to help in making this a (long overdue) reality!

100% agree, the phone is a big part of real controlling, a working full VCS cannot come soon enough.

I agree it’d be a nice feature, however, there are no immediate plans for G2G communications in AFV. I believe the possibility of this feature was explored at some point in the past, but it wasn’t fully implemented.

Usuay the issue with in client G2G coms is port forwarding.

Before VATSYS came out and with the correct ports fowarded, G2G coms worked fine in euroscope.

That’s excactly the problem.

Any kind of proprietary solution (anything not native AFV) makes it useless.

Anything requiring port forwarding is also unacceptable, imagine if AFV would require port forwarding to work…
