Cross the Land: Westbound 2023 Slots Release Date & Information

Captains,

As the days pass, a new edition of Cross the Land approaches. We believe that the problems from the previous release of the slots, which significantly delayed their availability, have been resolved. Bookings will go online tomorrow, Saturday, February 4, at 11:00 UTC. Pilots can book their slots as usual. With a total of 507 slots spread across 30 city-pairs, there are a variety of options available in this edition.

Booking Confirmation System

Pilots must confirm their booking between Friday, February 10, 2023, at 07:30 UTC and Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 07:30 UTC using the same procedure we implemented in the last edition. Your slot will be given to anyone wishing to make a last-minute booking for the event if the slot has not been confirmed by the member that has booked. Several announcements will be made on our social media platforms and our Discord to remind you to confirm your slot.

Let’s talk about routes

We encountered a small problem with the routes in the previous release, where the uploaded routes weren’t the right ones. The routes listed on the bookings are the last confirmed routes by all vACCs/Divisions participating in the event. However, this does not guarantee that any last-minute adjustments brought on by adjustments due to AIRAC or any other important issues won’t go unnoticed by pilots. Such changes will be announced via email and on our social media channels.

Pilot Briefings

Last but not least, we are working hard with the airports that are participating in the departure and arrival phases to deliver the pilot briefings to you 24 to 48 hours prior to the event.

Hello,

two questions:

  1. Will the pilot briefing have a sectormap with the frequencies in use?
  2. Will we be assigned gates to connect safely to the network w/o spawning into somebody else?

Looking forward to the event.

Regards
Ralph

Hi! Regarding the use of sector maps within the pilot briefings this is not planned. However, I’ve taken note of this for future editions to be considered as an addition to the pilot briefings. Lastly, your questions regarding the gates you’ll need to find a gate on your own. We do not assign gates to pilots.
