The VATSIM Virtual Airlines Department is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the position of Virtual Airline Audit Manager.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to contribute directly to the growth, integrity, and long-term success of the virtual airline community within VATSIM. Virtual Airline Audit Managers play a key role in supporting and strengthening relationships between VATSIM and its Virtual Airline Partners.
Role Overview
The primary responsibility of the Virtual Airline Audit Manager is to conduct structured and periodic audits of Virtual Airline Partners (VAP), Virtual Airline Associates (VAA), and Discord-Only Virtual Airlines (DOVA) to ensure continued compliance with established partnership requirements and departmental policies.
Audit Managers work closely with Senior Audit Managers and departmental leadership while supporting initiatives aimed at improving audit processes, transparency, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct periodic audits in accordance with established schedules and procedures

Review virtual airline documentation, platforms, and operational structure for compliance

Respond to inquiries regarding virtual airline partnership status

Collaborate with Senior Audit Managers on departmental projects and initiatives

Identify, document, and escalate issues or concerns as appropriate

Maintain accurate, professional audit documentation and correspondence

Support initiatives that enhance VATSIM’s engagement within the virtual airline community
Qualifications

Strong commitment to VATSIM’s values, mission, and goals

Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines

Familiarity with VATSIM operations and governance

Working knowledge of the Virtual Airline Partner Policy

Working knowledge of the Virtual Airline Associate Policy, including Discord-Only Virtual Airlines

Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Knowledge
- A thorough understanding of the Virtual Airline Partner Policy is highly beneficial and critical for success in this role
