The Saudi Arabian vACC is now seeking candidates for the following position:
Saudi Arabian vACC Director of Technology Department – ACCSA6
Position Duties:
The role of the Saudi Arabian vACC Technical Director entails developing & overseeing the Technology Department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain the technical infrastructure of the subdivision, ensuring the timely completion of all assigned projects.
- Monitor for and promptly address any security breaches within the technical infrastructure, implementing fixes and preventative measures.
- Support neighbouring departments by creating tools, scripts, and programs that automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage all technical services and plans the vACC is subscribed to, including hosting, VPS plans, etc.
- Respond to and resolve any system outages within 48 hours.
- Recruit, appoint, and oversee team members within the department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the vACC Director.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this position, the candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of subdivisional, divisional and VATSIM Policies.
- Experience in Programming & Project Development
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English.
- Active and in good standing with VATSIM.
- Membership in VATSIM Middle East and North Africa Division & Saudi Arabia vACC, or willing to transfer if selected.
- Availability to dedicate a minimum of 7 hours per week to the role.
- Able to commit to the position for a minimum of 1 year.
The Ideal Candidate Should:
- Demonstrate a strong drive to develop innovative and impactful projects that support the vACC’s staff and members.
- Possess prior leadership experience, either within VATSIM or in an external organization.
- Have substantial technical experience, whether gained inside or outside the VATSIM network.
- Be capable of managing and overseeing multiple development projects simultaneously.
- Be proficient in delivering full-stack development projects from start to finish.
- Be skilled in creating web applications and developing Discord bots.
