Hello…Say i fly from on Vatsim network Gatwick to Cape Town and 2 hours into the flight the sim crash…Can i rejoin that flight or lost? 2nd. Does that two hours count towards online fly hours?
A few things here; VATSIM itself isn’t about collecting hours, and in fact it records connection time to the server. So if you did a flight from Cape Town to Jberg and spent two hours on the ground prepping then it records the actual time you are connected not the flight time. IF you are in a Virtual Airline VA they may record things differently. In your scenario, if you rejoined the VATSIM server at your crash (disconnect) point you would still have an accurate time with VATSIM.
RECONNECTING: Is allowed on the VATSIM server. The guidance material is well written and should be used to guide us. Safe to say you can reconnect mid-flight, but try to minimise impact on any other user: check to see if anyone is at same FL near to where you want to reconnect first, check if ATC is online and have the frequency tuned early.
