Hello, I fly on vatsim in xplane 12 and usually everything is fine I get around 30-35 fps while in cruise and about 20-30 on ground depends at which airport I am. The thing is that while at cruise altitude I often have really bad frame drops and it’s like from 35 fps to 1-5 fps for a few minutes. The outcome of it is that I get disconnected from vatsim (Not even mentioning the lags). I’ve never had these frame drops happen on ground always in the air. I can’t even predict when I’m going to get these drops because I recently I’ve flown from chicago to warsaw without any problems I didn’t get disconnected even once but sometimes I can’t even fly from poland to italy without getting disconnected. It is very annoying because out of 10 flights I finish only half. I’m sure that it’s vatsim’s fault because when I fly offline I don’t get these frame drops and when I get disconnected it suddenly gets better. I also have 1400 hours on msfs 2020 and it didn’t happen even once. My pc specs are:
Nvidia rtx 4060 ti, AMD ryzen 5 3600 and 16 gb of 3200 mhz ram.
My plugins are toliss a320, zibo 737, reshade, xplane map enhancement.
mate my vatsim tonight was really bad a tower controller at CYHZ was very rude and gave me taxi to RWY 32 apron DK cross 23 and hold 32 he seen there was a aircraft in my way and let him go and push so i taxied to the RWY and he gave me into trubble for listening to him
Hi. I have no idea how excatly xPilot works in code, but I believe that it’s possible to increase fps, but it strongly depends on developers who made the plugin.
I already have put issue in xPilot github with suggestion to add new little feature in configuration of CSL models.
Suggestion is to give users ability to set maximum number of rendered aircrafts and also set maximum distance of rendered aircrafts.
CSL models have no LOD, which means that these models are rendered in full quality eaven at pretty far distances. That I believe makes FPS drops in XP12.
Other thing is that we can set default CSL aircraft in case the specific traffic was not found in CSL library. I have not tested it but maybe removing like 50% of CSL models may change something in fps but I don’t guarantee that.
