If you do not pursue this idea and e.g. submit it to the Simbrief team, nothing is going to happen. Developers do NOT read this forum here.
I’m glad to have found this!! Developers DO check this forum. I least I did .
Let me start by saying this: myself and a team of three other devs are working exactly on this tool/app. All you will need to do is ask what should I fly today and the app will spit it out. We are even working on some related very cool stuff/additions.
Let me try to shortly introduce myself. I’m a ML Engineer w/ 20+ years of experience that happen to also love aviation and being a geek in flight simulation. I have flown in VATSIM for a long time and have always faced many of the issues you also described when trying to decide where to flight!
I’m very excited reading this thread and realize that this tool might actually help a lot of you guys. I’m would love to hear any comments/questions/suggestions/requests that you guys might have in mind and would even be open to chat (live in google meet) w/ you to go over this.
Feel free to send me a DM if you would like to know a little more or have anything to share w/ us!
Great! You are the exception! The reality is that most developers have way too many things on their plates and just don’t have the time to check all those forums.
This sounds very good. Please consider some kind of interface so that programs like Qutescoop can work with your database and possibly integrate these route-suggestions.
Hello Andy and folks! I know it took us a long time, but our team has been working very hard over the last month to get this out. You know live happens and we are only working on this in our extra time. Finally the tool is out. Check this other post I created to get more details!
Your feedback is appreciated. Also please spread the word!
Really good to see the progress on this. I look forward to seeing the ongoing development, it looks great so far.
Is it only looking at current online ATC status? Or booked? Or is it using AI to make estimations? And is it only looking at Tower and below i.e. not Center/Approach etc.?
All recommendations you see are ranked by the AI models behind. It’s pretty much looking at everything (active atc at every single level, booked atc as well, events, current flights, prefiles, etc). We even track the controlled time at each ATC level for every single flight you make (which is pretty hard to achieve ). The only thing left out currently is the weather (which we plan to include soon). We also plan to update the models soon(improve architecture, retrained them, etc), since we have collected a good amount of data so far (from all the days the server has been up). Predictions should be getting better as we “see” what pilots are doing.
We will have an update coming up this week with a few cool additions, mainly in these areas):
Flags icons to easily identify where/to countries.
A bunch of pre-ranking filters (e.g. only rank flights between 1-2hrs, or only generate flights between a given list of airprts, and more). These should give users a bit of control.
Some general improvements to our candidate generators.
